Crafted from select walnut, this eighteenth century armoire is a testament to the excellence in hand-craftsmanship that existed before the industrial revolution took over the Continent. Classically styled, it borrows from Romanesque architecture to produce a stately presence. Its relatively diminutive size indicates it was produced by special request. The evidences of handwork abound from the hewn planks in the rear to the hand-shaped molding and joinery all around. Each panel was hand-selected because of its beautiful grain pattern. The carved embellishment is distinctive and meticulously sculpted, yet subtly elegant, and includes egg & dart, laurel garlands, bell flowers, ribbon, and on the center stile musical instruments and intertwined floral and foliates. Exterior hinges make it ideal for any modern application!
