A beautiful Pair of Louis XVI style painted and gilded fauteuils (open armchairs) from France circa 1890. Boasting their original painted finish and tapestry upholstery, this pair of armchairs are superb examples of the Louis XVI style, carved with spiral ribbon, acanthus plumes and foliates, all highlighted with gold. Each chair has been lavishly upholstered in a soft floral needlepoint tapestry to complement the paint and to outline the shapely beauty of the chair back and the carved details.
Each measures 36 x 25 x 25.5; seat height 17.5.
