An idyllic pastoral courtship scene has been depicted in solid bronze, layered with gold to produce a superbly intricate and long-lasting relic from the past. Superlative detail abounds from the fur of the sheepherd's dog and the ewe to the folds in the clothing of the shepherd and the object of his affection. Note the maiden tying a ribbon around the neck of the sheep!
