Location: Dallas

Sculpted from dense, old-growth French white oak to last for generations, this intriguing smoker's chair was designed to sit in a reverse position from a normal chair, using the padded rest above the "back" for one's elbows. The rest also hinges up to reveal a convenient storage place for one's pipe and tobacco. The artisans who created it carved a tobacco pouch and pipes below, framed with finely contoured molding above and barley twist columns to the right and left, the latter which is continued in the legs and stretchers below the seat. Recently upholstered in leather, it is ready to place in your favorite spot!
Circa 1870s.
