Turned with local clays and glazed with a regional recipe before firing, this pitcher features a convenient handle on each side and a wide opening to make it easy to pour in food products for long-term storage. Glazing was applied to the interior and halfway down the outside, leaving the bottom portion porous to provide a natural cooling effect.
Circa 1880s.
