The tailored architecture that originated during the Directoire period has been often copied, even by such notables as Englishman Duncan Phyffe.  This example hails from France, and features fluted and tapered legs tipped in brass feet, cove-beveled Cararra marble and a solid French walnut frame designed to last for centuries!
