Used to scoop out a sizeable quantity of coal from the pile in the basement, then display it in style on the hearth, ready to stoke the fire, this scuttle reminds us of the days before central heating and natural gas fireplaces. Soot and smoke were considered a fact of life, but at least they kept the coal handy in a stylish container! Crafted from solid copper.
