Pair 19th Century French Bronze Louis XVI Style Andirons were cast in the classic manner revived during the reign of King Louis XVI to return the court to a manner consistent with the timeless ancient Greek & Roman architectures of centuries past.  The symbolism includes the torchere, signifying the light that is shed upon the monarchy, the archer's bow which represents its power, and the eternal flame indicating the monarch's desire for immortality.  Set upon pierced railing and lions' paw feet, they were originally designed to enhance a small wood- or coal-burning fireplace, the pair is ideal as decorative accents for virtually any purpose or decor!
