Rendered from select French walnut by master artisans, this impressive bed represents the latter 19th century revival of the Henri II style, with boldly carved shield and foliate crest atop the high, arched crown on the headboard which in turn lies atop the fluted cornice punctuated with rosettes. The footboard is a separate yet complementary work of art unto itself, rendered with matching cornerposts and cornice trim, but hand-carved with a stunning urn bursting with flowers and surrounded by lavish foliates in an artistic display of relief work. Even the rails are finely sculpted to match the lower footboard!
