Steeped in rich history, this fine Louis XV style commode reflects the artistic influence of Orient, or chinoiserie, designs in European decorative arts. Surmounted by a bombe and serpentine molded marble top, it features two sans-traverse drawers, embellished with hand painted Oriental figures and pagodas within a typical landscape, and mounted with elaborately cast ormolu bronze.
