Utilizing prized imported mahogany, the artisans who created this antique French bed chose to style it with a double crown in the classic manner admired by Louis XVI. Hand-carved embellishments abound on the bonnet, moldings and cornerposts depicting Greek coin, acanthus rosettes, bell flowers and laurels. The footboard mirrors the headboard, but is further embellished with bas relief carvings of lavish floral wreaths and swags with ribbon surrounding an egg motif. Already wide enough as is, we have lengthened the rails so that it accommodates a standard Queen mattress, so you can have the best of both worlds~ 19th century craftsmanship and quality with 21st century comfort!
