Crafted by rural artisans that copied the fashions set by the finest furniture houses of Paris and Lyon, this example was hand-crafted in the manner of Louis XVI, with classically-inspired architecture and embellishment, then given a painted finish which has achieved a superlative patina over the decades. Bas relief carvings include Greek wave, floral wreaths, quatrefoil overlay, acanthus rosettes, foliates, even Greek coin. Capacious drawers with cast bronze pulls provide excellent storage!
