At the turn of the century the French production of classic styles began an evolution into the Art Nouveau and Art Deco patterns that were relatively short-lived. This example was crafted just at the beginning of that juncture, displaying timeless Louis XVI-inspired hand-carved motifs such as the floral cartouche atop an arched crown, spiral ribbon and beaded molding and of course a liberal dose of acanthus rosettes in various forms. Fine French walnut was used ensuring that this example will provide a source of enjoyment for your family for generations to come!
