Hand-crafted from beautifully grained French oak, this lovely long case is fine example of a provincial interpretation of the neoclassicism of the Louis XVI style. Elaborately cast brass and tin create the clockface dial, accented with embossed Roman numerals and filigreed hands. A classic chapeau de gendarme cornice with mitered corners surrounding the dial creates the bonnet, while the waist is embellished with charming foliates and a quatrefoil window. Coordinating neoclassical motifs grace the base, with a triglyph plinth with mitered feet provides support.
As is the case with all our clocks, we have had them professionally cleaned and put in working order!
