Four cherubs have been carved with remarkable realism on the corners of this handsome antique French bureau plat desk, crafted from noyer blonde, the blonde walnut that is so highly prized by all who are familiar with its intrinsic beauty. Acanthus frond gadrooning on the edge is mirrored by the molded tier all round the aprons, with barley twist columns and stretchers below, accented with turned finials, providing beautiful support. Bun feet and concentric rosettes also add a nice touch, with two spacious drawers for functionality.
