Originally intended for the consumption of hearty lagers and ales, stines such as this example became ubiquitous in what is now called Germany and vary widely in size, style, composition and ornamentation, some obtaining collector's status. This example is remarkably well preserved and features intricate hand-styling in the clay prior to glazing and firing. Fitted with a soldered tin lid to keep the beverage fresh during enjoyment.
