French 19th century Louis XIV mirror with a bold cartouche was hand carved and hand gilded frame encloses the original mirror glass plate and was created to be a potent focal point wherever it is placed in an interior. The decoration of the frame is entirely symmetrical; except the featured dove spilling forth the wings at the top. The cartouche continues horizontally to each top corner where a boldly scaled swag of acanthus leaves are seen looped across the frame. The lower corners of the frame have an intriguing pattern with a rounded edge and floral embellishments. The unique hand made quality of this frame is an astonishing artifact of sumptuous design in French interiors.
