Representing the Immaculate Conception, Mary is depicted surmounting a crescent moon, symbolizing her chastity, and a serpent, as an illustration of her triumph over evil. Perfectly proportioned and executed with remarkable details, she is survived with her original polychrome painted finish, whose venerable patina exudes timeless appeal.
