The timeless Romanesque styling that originated over two millenia ago continues in the traditional Italian guild houses where master artisans produce exquisite examples such as this antique armoire. Crafted from fine Italian walnut, it features trompe l'oeuil marquetry in panels framed with fine molded detail that trick the eye into perceiving the wood is intertwined. The door panels are then flanked by intricately carved pilasters topped with corinthian capitals, all visually supporting the boldly molded and carved crown. A full width drawer at the base with massive bronze pulls adds visual as well as functional appeal. The cavernous interior features mirrors and is exquisitely finished in satinwood. Truly an example of superlative craftsmanship!
