Crafted exclusively from solid French red oak, this handsome buffet boasts styling drawn from the baroque, a favorite of Louis XIV. The casework was produced by master artisans with pegged mortise & tenon joinery, dovetails, and chamfered back panels which actually contribute to the sturdiness of the piece. Boldly carved detailing on the sides and front are indicative of a different type of artisanry~ that of the sculptor, who is able to use rudimentary hand tools to render the wood into superb floral, foliate and architectural motifs. Original cast brass hardware completes the look.
