Combining bold baroque styling with a hint of architectural embellishment, this Italian Baroque mirror is just the right size for a diminutive space, such as, powdered bath or foyer. Hand crafted entirely from carved wood, no plaster, it has been given a wonderful gold leaf finish that has developed a beautiful patina over the decades. Pierce-carvings above and below are a testament to the skills of the artisans, since such carving is far more difficult than simple bas relief. Original mirror shows signs of appropriate age, and to protect the silvering, a original three-panel backing was affixed at some point in its history.
