Magnificently hand-crafted by the master artisans of Paris, this superb console was created in the Louis XVI style and provides an example of the superlative craftsmanship of the latter half of the 19th century in France. Four support legs comprised of tapered and fluted columns are joined with curved stretchers festooned with quatrefoil overlay, centered with a superb urn with fruit and flowers. The apron consists of an elaborate expression of Greek coin punctuated by acanthus rosettes, leading the eye to the precisely contoured and beveled sienna marble on top.
