Displaying a host of motifs that are definitive of the classic Louis XVI style, this stunning console/trumeau combination is not only remarkably well preserved, it was superbly executed from the beginning! Musical instruments surround the shield-shaped romantic painting atop the generously sized mirror, which has been beautifully trimmed and framed by spiral fluted columns. The column motif continues with the four legs below, supporting a lavishly carved apron and connected with contoured stretchers centered with a bold flaming urn finial. Gold highlights enhance the patina of the original painted finish, and the original beveled and contoured marble top completes the look.
