"By the River Volga" is the title of this exceptional Russian artist's V.T. Ovgarov human study of a maiden carrying buckets of water from the river. She stopped to pose for this work of art, with a shy smile that the artist has captured so beautifully. The artwork is placed in a nautical background setting, and survives in its original frame. Ovgarov 's artistic roots in realism are apparent in his depictions of lyrical landscapes many times, using the Volga River as a central theme. His unique style is reminiscent of 19th and early 20th century Russian traditional art.
