Regence revival commode hails from Provence, and was crafted from the world-reknowned French walnut that flourishes in the region. Given a patinaed painted finish, it will work perfectly with your Paris Country or "shabby chic" look. Bringing together elements of the Baroque, Rococo and Renaissance movements, the Regence represents a unique yet short-lived historical period. Thankfully several revivals since have kept it in the foreground of classic architecture and adornment. This example, with subtly bowed drawer facade, has been lavished with exquisitely cast and chased bronze ormolu mounts including pulls, with panels molded to synch with the flowing lines of the bronze. Capacious drawers make it as functional as it is pleasing to the eye.
