Boasting no less than 16 individually distinct carved panels on the doors with 20 linenfold panels on the sides, this armoire is a visual feast! Hand-crafted from dense, old-growth French white oak, it most likely represents the equivalent of a family tree, commissioned by a proud clan to commemorate their ancestors. The intriguing design of the forged iron hinges is of particular note~ the doors open bi-fold style in one of the earliest examples of the design we've come across. Fascinatingly detailed lockwork mechanisms are just as interesting. Because of the bi-fold operation, this makes for an ideal candidate as an entertainment center!
