Sculpted from select French walnut in an exuberant expression of the Regence style which was the transitional link between the Baroque and Rococo movements, this stunner French Canape features lovely cut velvet brocade upholstery, and an undulating framework that has been lavished with shell and foliate motifs, with intriguing intertwined molding details that are particularly alluring. the gracefully sculpted seatback transitions into fully enclosed, curvaceous armrests like a bergere. Two pair of double lyre stretchers below connect the cabriole legs carved with complementary motifs and tipped with escargots.
