19th Century French Walnut Footstool will make a great accompaniment to your seating group. A hand-carved double tier of trim appears around the apron above which the upholstered top has been affixed. The aubusson-style tapestry fabric has wear spots and needs replacement. The walnut frame, however, should be good for at least another century, with finely detailed gadrooning over a variety of dentil molding that utilizes an elongated egg form. Scrolled supports lead the eye down to the paw feet, and in between is a clockwise and counter-clockwise barley twist stretcher to add stylish strength.
