This pair of antique commodinis caught our eye the minute we walked into the room. The artistry involved in painting such keepsakes is truly remarkable. In this example, gryffins are depicted in poses that have been duplicated in marble statuary. The subtle pastel tones of the original painted finish have developed a wonderful patina, and the simple lines of the architecture ensure one's full appreciation for these keepsakes.
