A fine illustration of the high quality blue and white porcelain produced in Belgian factories, this magnificently detailed series of dinner plates and soup tureen depicts various classic scenes and examples of architecture in Northern Europe. Gracefully scalloped, the textured edges boast hand-painted, stylized naturalistic motifs, providing delicately ornamented borders. The design was registered from 1823 through 1953, and these examples were commissioned for Monsieur Justin Vandermeer. Manufactured in Brussels, Belgium by the Compagnie de Bruxelles.
