Salvaged from a beautiful cathedral in Normandie, this reliquary cabinet features bold baroque-inspired molded detail with mitered corners and pilasters on the rear facade. The most striking feature, however, is a stunning sculpture of the last Supper on the cabinet door itself. Left in its original condition, it is a testament to both the craftsmen and the superiority of the dense, old-growth French white oak from which it was produced. Originally designed to hold a special relic that had been with the cathedral since its founding, it would have been kept in a well-protected enclave.
