Location: Dallas

At some point in time some clever Frenchman decided that a one-door buffet would be the perfect diminutive piece to place in a niche or in a convenient location into which he could store various foodstuffs. Over time the confiturier became widely accepted, and of course variations evolved. This example features the classic style and ornamentation of Normandie, but features a full width drawer and cubbyhole opening, with carved bonnet and apron for additional visual appeal. Steel hardware completes the look.
Circa 1890s.
