Although appearing to be a typical confiturier at first glance, this 19th century French Music Cabinet was designed for the music room and used to keep sheet music and perhaps small instruments such as flutes or clarinets.  The Napoleon III period design of this ebonized cabinet features bas relief pilasters in the classical style, with a charming crest applique at the center depicting Cupid dancing and playing his cymbals!
Circa 1870.
