94.5 x 70 x 22.5

Location: Dallas

This superb specimen was found in Lower Brittany but appears to have its style influenced by adjacent provinces, creating a unique look. Utilizing dense, old-growth French white oak, the artisans first created intricately scrolled frameworks for the door panels and apron below (which is centered with an inlaid 5-point star), then inserted solid chamfered panels with the grains specifically oriented to create additional visual intrigue. Fluted cornerposts create a column effect, and a bold crown above presides over a simply adorned bonnet centered with another inlaid 5-point star. With the outboard barrel hinges, the doors open wide making this a great candidate for an entertainment center.
Circa 1840s.
Measures 94.5 x 70 x 22.5.
