Crafted of solid oak circa 1770, we discovered this grand hand-carved Antique Country French Commode in northern France near the historic city of Lille. Its streamlined proportions in the famed style of Louis XVI and minimalist-chic appeal characterize this elegant work of the carbinetmaker's art. Tailored lines and tapered legs give it simple yet stunning detail, accented with its original escutcheons. The authentic patina from its hand-rubbed waxed finish is rare for an antique of this period.
