Price: $1,850.00

Location : Baton Rouge

Crafted exclusively from dense, old-growth French white oak, this egoutoir was found in well-established Country French kitchens, its purpose being to store just-washed pots and pans while drying after the meal. This example includes a drawer to hold cloths for polishing, as well as a plate rack on top. Note the hand-drilled pegs holding the mortise & tenon joints together. Truly an interesting relic from the past, consider it the first kitchen drying rack!
Circa 1780s.
