Crafted from exquisite imported mahogany, perhaps one of the most revered woods used by the finest English cabinetmakers of the 19th century, this impressive linen press was designed to store a large family's entire formal dining accouterments including china, silver, tablecloths, napkins, flatware, you name it! Handsomely stored behind flame mahogany panels, the family's heirlooms were safe and immediately available when expecting company. This example exhibits understated moldings, large turned wood drawer pulls and intriguingly carved legs & feet for a unique look. The hardware lets the doors open wide and lay flat in order to be used for ideal TV or entertainment center.
Circa 1890s.
