97.5 x 78 x 22

Location: Baton Rouge

This stunning example of late 19th century French master craftsmanship was created from mueche mahogany, revered for its unusual grain pattern and deep, rich coloration. The subtly arched crown flares out to a brace of cast bronze pineapple finials, and is adorned with bronze Greek coin motif, which has been repeated on the base molding. Bronze pulls, keyguards and various other mounts enhance the rich mahogany wood from top to bottom. Three doors open like a tailor's fitting room, and provide copious storage, while the four external drawers make it so much easier to use every day. Original beveled mirrors add panache.
Circa 1890s.
Measures 97.5 x 78 x 22.
