Location: Baton Rouge

In what can best be described as the simplest expression of the Louis XVI style, the artisans who created this triple armoire utilized exotic imported mahogany, one of the most prized woods in Europe since the early 19th century. Stunning flame patterns on the side cabinets provide abundant visual interest, and are enhanced by fluted cornerposts and pilasters, with cast bronze rosettes on top just under the crown molding. Turned and tapered feet support the entire affair, centered with a subtly arched full length dressing mirror.
Circa 1900-1910.
