It is indeed a pleasure to find such well-preserved artifacts from the past, especially with unique features as this example diaplays. Using a technique called "bookmatching", the artisans carefully applied mirror-image cherrywood veneering to the façade to create unusual symmetrical grain patterns, evident from the crown all the way and inclusive of the base in this stunning example. The original shield shaped keyguards survive, as well, making this an excellent collectible as well as a casework into which one can store voluminous amounts of personal belongings!   Open the doors and discover a central hidden door that with a special key opens to reveal six lingerie drawers!
Circa 1840s.
Measures 91 x 71 x 25.
