Considered by many to be the most influential of 19th century French styles, the Empire style dawned during the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte, and was revived when his nephew assumed power during the Second Empire. This example, hand-crafted from exotic imported mahogany French two-door buffet, exhibits classic Empire motifs in the original cast bronze ormolu mounts with styling influenced by the ancient Egyptians of whom Napoleon was so enamoured. Spacious interior affords excellent storage in style!
