Location: Baton Rouge

The sensuous, undulating form of the bombe commode have been enthralling admirers for centuries, and this example clearly illustrates why. The complex form of the casework with tightly form-fitting drawers has been festooned with exotic species of imported hardwoods in a delightful marquetry pattern, accentuated by cast bronze pulls, mounts and keyguards. A slab of sienna marble, considered by some the best choice for its compatibility with most any color scheme, has been contoured and beveled to perfection to create the perfect carefree surface.
Circa early 1900s.
Measures 34 x 46 x 21.
