During a period of austerity cabinetmakers found it necessary to compete based on quality of wood, and some of the finest exotic mahogany was used to produce this excellent example of French workmanship. Simple lines emphasized function over form, with a charcoal gray marble top providing a neutral, carefree serving surface.
