19th Century Wrought Iron & Brass Music Stand is a splendid example of hand-craftsmanship, with a sturdy (and heavy) forged iron base with tripod legs supporting the solid brass two-sided book or music stand above.  The brass stand is designed to swivel on its iron base.  On the sides are pierced symbols of a lyre and the Star of David, while on each side with the lip to support music or a book, appears pierced imagery of four Stars of David surrounding the central sunburst motif, itself centered with what at first glance appears to be a dollar sign but in fact is more likely the initials of the owner, or perhaps Saint Joseph.  It is unclear precisely what the letters mean, adding to the mysterious charm of this incredible historical artifact!
