Rendered from local sienna marble and fitted with superlative cast bronze mounts, this pair of cassolettes were intended solely to beautify one's home. Cast in an atypical eggplant shape, the detail that abounds in the bronze mounts is truly worthy of a jeweler's work, with floral garlands and graceful swan's heads predominating.
