This pair of armchairs would typically be called Louis XVI style, yet they are from Italy, where the classic style originated. Note the oval seatback, an affectation derived from the Moorish influence. Finely crafted from walnut, and carved with ribbon, floral and foliate motifs from the crown to the tapered & fluted legs, each still carries its silk upholstery, which is ready to be replaced in your coordinating fabric.
