This superbly preserved rare pair of antique French beds, designed to accommodate twin mattresses, were crafted by Parisian masters from exotic rich and rare rosewood, considered the king of all furniture woods! Bold heraldic crests appear on the arched headboard crowns, with laurel sprays and floral garlands leading the eye out to the intricately carved finials on each side. The finials are perched on top of acanthus rosette-encrusted plinths, under which an ionic capital rests atop the tapered and fluted columns that frame the bed panel. Similar treatment was given to the footboards, with the simplicity of design calling maximum attention to the sheer natural beauty of the wood. Survived as a pair, they are ready to beautify your home for the next century or two! Supreme elegance in the Napoleon III style!
