Crafted from exotic mahogany imported from the Honduras, this set of twelve chairs were styled in the manner of the First Empire during the actual reign of Napoleon III, also known as the Second Empire. Tailored architecture is a holdover from the Directoire period, and the addition of bronze mounts with ancient Egyptian style motifs are an affectation of Napoleon and Josephine. Remarkably well preserved, each is a testament to hand-crafted quality and the finest materials available to 19th century French master artisans!
