I've never been clear as to why teapots and coffee pots differed in height and proportion, but I'm sure it has something to do with the way the tea is steeped within the pot, whereas the coffee has been preprepared using the pot only as a serving device. Either way, it's surely a handsome sight to have one of each brought out on a tray, especially during a colder-than-normal winter! This petite example, rendered in pewter, boasts an elaborate embossed exterior and of course the hinged lid.
