19th Century French Louis XV Tapestry Armchair features the graceful lines of the rococo style yet executed with a certain symmetry more common during the Regence period.  Hand-crafted from solid old-growth fruitwood, the design starts with a high, arched seatback that leads the eyes down to the gracefully contoured armrests, which are tipped with carved detail where they connect to the boldly scrolled & carved upright supports.   The apron on the sides and front follows an arbalette contour, or an archer's bow, and is lavished with scallop shell and foliate sprays.  Even the back apron is finely contoured, not plain at all.  Four subtly scrolled cabriole legs carved with acanthus plumes and tipped with unusual foliate carvings provide support.  Upholstered in colorful and painstakingly detailed needlepoint with an elaborate floral scheme, it is sure to provide enjoyment to your family for generations to come!
